I've created this fictional app called HERBi in Adobe XD to showcase my curated Adobe Fonts pack: Basic Sans Regular, Basic Sans Bold, Yrsa Regular, Yrsa SemiBold, Continuo Regular, Bree Light and Bree SemiBold.
HERBi, the hub for all your spices
HERBi is a fictional app for people who love cooking, and look for the best herbs and spices for their dishes. You can buy herbs and herb mixes from the HERBi shop, look up information on herbs and spices, and find workshops nearby, as well as recipes to mix your own herbs.
The logo was created using Continuo Regular, an ideal display font for this four letter logo, using characters that have only straight lines. Its distinctive look made it possible for me to divide each letter into separate segments, and play around with different colors for each. This gave the logo the extra depth and finesse I was aiming for.
The soft tones of the color palette were carefully picked to perfectly suit the fictitious brand.
Each section of the app has its own accent color and icon. Using Basic Sans Bold in all caps style, with wide tracking between the letters, together with Yrsa Regular in a small size gives a perfectly balanced result for small titles. It was the nice subtle contrast between these fonts that made me choose this combo.
Using Bree Light for the packaging labels, I placed a semi-transparent logo in the background with the icons on top, together with a tagline in Yrsa Regular. Bree's beautiful round descenders give these labels just a touch of playfulness that I like.
The 3 icons where created with the sole purpose to use them on the packaging labels, but while designing the app, I decided the use each for a different section of the app.
Basic Sans Bold in all caps worked well for the design of this organic label. The rounded R is my favourite letter, but there is a lot to love about this font.
